Most would call me a big man.

Most would think that I am a weightlifter but you wouldn’t say I am a bodybuilder.

I was constantly doing my workout to build muscle and I got tired of the same old thing and the same old results.

My workout to build muscle was about to change to something completely unique and I was excited to start somthing different.

I knew I needed a change when I kept coming home from the gym and my muscles joints were so sore, not to mention how annoying some people were at the gym.

Benching, squating and normal arm lifts where all I knew from my early days in high school. I did have a trainer for a while and he introduced me to some unique ideas and I made some significant progress to my overall condition but trainers are expensive. The trainer routines were not a workout to build muscle but to trim me down and that confused me and I became frustrated.

I was so frustrated with the trainers workout because I just didn’t have the level success I did with my workout to build muscle because I was lifting my own bodyweight in ways I had never done before.

Now, keep in mind, at the time, I am about 5′10″, and I live in Fargo, ND. Nothing against Fargo, but ice covered ground is an everyday occurrence around there…. how am I going to go from this unknown football market to QB U? Sounds impossible right?

From Fargo to Stanford, this is the story and I want to share with you how I went from dreaming it to making it a reality. First things first, I wrote out my goals:

Then I read that GOAL every night before I went to bed, and I would fall asleep visualizing myself playing at Stanford. Playing QB is what I knew, I knew I would end up in Stanford but the path was still unclear.

It happened, my mom calls and says, “Chris, I saw on the news out here that John Elway has a football camp at Stanford. Do you want to go?”

Well, You guessed it I said “Are you kidding, of course! Thanks Mom!”

I made it to Stanford the summer between my sophomore and junior year. WOW, was I in for an awakening and an inspiration. The talent at the camp was amazing, and it was a tremendous confidence booster for me because it proved to me that I could compete with the big boys around the country.

I was so inspired that when I got back home I rewrote some of my goals and prepared for my junior year.

We were State Champions
We had back to back undefeated seasons

I am First Team All-Conference

Every Night I would read and visualize my goals and knew that I would see my self meeting my goals.. Fortunately, I had a tremendous supporting cast at Fargo South, and I was fortunate enough through hard work and dedication to achieve my junior year goals.

After my junior season, I put together a highlight video, along with my athletic resume and transcript, and I began to send this packet of information to coaches all over the country.. I didn’t have to wait too long until the letters and questionnaires started to flow in from schools across the country. I did my part and sat back and waited to see what happened.

Nebraska, Minnesota and Stanford were the three schools I went to for their football camp. This experience was super and I was introduced to lots of people and gave me several opportunities to attend college all over the country. After these camps, I had created scholarship opportunities at all 3 of these schools and many others.

At the start of my senior year, I created yet another batch of videos for coaches from around the country. The coaches that liked what they saw, responded, and before long I had several “official recruiting” visits set up. The first recruiting visit I went on was to Stanford University.

Coach Dennis Green offered me a Scholarship to attend Stanford, Ok so what do you think came next? An astounding “YEAHHHH OOHHH, I Mean Yes Sir!” I was as happy as a person could get.
